MORE ABOUT ME
The Art of Recording Memories
As you may of already gathered my name is Vicky and I am the face behind the camera.
I am based Leicester, UK. I am a wife and mum of two, and I have a big passion for photography and I love what I do. I didn't train as a photographer, it started as a hobby at first. In fact I trained as a dental nurse a profession I was in for more than 23 years.
As I said I never studied photography academically as I was well into adulthood when I got my first DSLR, in 2012 I purchased a Canon 650D and from there over the next few years I started to get much more serious about my photography, so I taught myself with lots of practicing, reading books, watching tutorials and reading online, the odd short online courses and practical workshops, upgrading my kit as I learnt more to what it is today.
Being in front of a camera can be nerve wracking to a lot of people, my experience as a dental nurse and dealing with anxious patients has given me the skills needed to provide excellent customer care and to put you at ease and help you have a fun time, and your photographs will reflect that.
My own ever increasing personal portfolio is very diverse, but professionally wedding and portrait photography is where my heart is, I strive to create beautiful photographs to treasure and to preserve all those special memories.
I am proud to say that in June 2020 I gained my Qualified status with the Guild of Photographers, for this I had to submit a panel of 21 images to be assessed. What does Qualified mean? A standard of competence that reflects a level where the customer should be 'pleased with the results', when employing the services of a skilled tradesman (the photographer). In other words 'Qualified' indicates professional 'competence' to a level where the Guild is willing to recognise the photographer as an ambassador of the association.
I regularly win awards for my photography and I am proud to of been awarded the photographers bar in 2018, in 2019 I gained the bar in 3 different categories and in 2020 I gained 2 more bars, taking my total to 6 and in doing so awarded the silver bar with the Guild of Photographers.
"Membership of the 'Photographers Bar' is a unique distinction awarded to those photographers who have successfully had images assessed by the Guild of Photographers over the course of a year and have attained a score that evidences an exceptional level of professional skill and consistency throughout that a full year."
Membership of the 'Photographers Bar' is a distinction that is very difficult to achieve - in fact less than 250 photographers have achieved it in the 6 years since its inception, during which time over 60,000 images will have been entered for assessment by photographers across the UK and from overseas.
Also I was shortlisted as an image of the year finalist in the Contemporary category in 2018 and won recognition being a winner in June 2019 of Theo Phaphitis' "Small Business Sunday" initiative. In 2020 I was a finalist in The Founders Cup with the Guild and I have also been nominated for Photographer of the Year 2020 in the Visual Narrative category with The Societies.
Did I mention I LOVE what I do and I offer you my friendly, relaxed and enjoyable photography service

YOUR SPECIAL DAY
You have enough to plan on your special day, so make sure photography isn’t adding to your stress. I put innovation, experience, and passion into everything I do. With a list of satisfied clients, I know exactly how to give you what you need.
I like to capture your special day in a reportage style, which is a relaxed, natural and informal technique, this is a lovely way to achieve a nice narrative of the day, capturing the emotion and happiness of your wedding without putting you on the spot and making you feel uncomfortable and forced, I know not everyone feels comfortable in front of the camera, myself included so trust me when I say I know how you feel!
This doesn't mean the all important traditional group photographs will be missed out though and I like to capture the small details as just as much thought goes into these as they do to create the main parts of the day. Your photography can of course be tailored to suit you, after all it is YOUR big day.
After your wedding my work doesn't stop, I aim to provide at lease 10 fully processed sneak peek images within 24 hours and all your photographs from the day will be available to view on your own password protected gallery.
I cover Leicestershire and the East Midlands, but I will happily cover other areas both in the UK and abroad where possible.
Why not get in touch today to schedule a meeting.
I offer you my friendly, relaxed and enjoyable Wedding Photography services.
